Founded in 1901, the Museum of Copenhagen introduces you to all the most important events in the history of the Danish capital; from the trading and crafts of the Vikings, through the building boom and plague, to the free city of Christiania today. The museum also offers an interactive model that gives you an overview of the entire city.
By joining this reception at the museum, you’ll have the chance to mingle with other designers in a special historical location while learning more about the city of Copenhagen and its citizens. Archaeologist and Head of Public Outreach and Exhibitions of the museum, Vivi Lena Andersen, and COO of the Culture and Leisure Administration in the City of Copenhagen, Lars Colding Laustrup, will give a talk – focusing on how the museum has been recently modernised and on the digital solutions the museum is adopting to improve the visitors’ experience. During the visit, you’ll be also served a free reception menu.
The Museum of Copenhagen has also been nominated ‘European Museum of The Year’.

About Vivi and Lars
Vivi is currently the Head of Public Outreach and Exhibitions at the Museum of Copenhagen. She has been a part of the museum since 2001 as archaeologist, curator, researcher and manager. Her PhD dissertation, from the University of Copenhagen Saxo Institute, focused on shoes from the 1300 – 1800 period after analysing archaeological excavations in Copenhagen. She is also the receiver of an Elite Research award from the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, included in the AcademiaNet – Expert Database for Outstanding Female Academics and selected as PhD Cup Finalist for the award for best PhD research communication in Denmark.
Lars is COO of the Culture and Leisure Administration in the City of Copenhagen. With a background in Political Science and a Masters in Digital Management, he manages areas such as Art, Digitalization and Internationalization. Through the years he has had managing positions within both the public and NGO sector, most recently as the CFO of Save the Children Denmark.
